# 24 Lego flower pictures

A while back I saw a Lego display and previews for another that had pictures made out of Legos.  These were of famous paintings and far more advanced than I could do, but this gave me the idea to do something similar but way more simple.  This turned out to be flowers.  First I had to check out my Legos to see what colors and shapes of each I had so I could know what I could make. Then had to find pictures of flowers or simple cross stitch patterns.  Next I made customized cross stitch patterns on Stitch fiddle.  Then I had to get Lego plates of different sizes depending on the size and shape of the picture, so mostly 16x16 plates.  I had to try to hook the plates together as well as I could.  And then I put the Legos down according to my patterns.  On my last two the tulips and the sunflower I put a layer of thinner Lego plates under where I wanted the flowers to go to raise them up above the background.

Columbine (Colorado state flower)

Hibiscus

Luther rose

Tulips

Sunflower

This was a fun adventure!  I started out not knowing exactly what I was doing, but I kept learning from each picture.  Now I know a lot more about how to make these Lego pictures and can’t wait to make bigger and better pictures.

# 23 Benson Sculpture Garden

On a Tuesday afternoon my parents and I headed to Loveland CO to check out the Benson Sculpture Garden.  When we arrived we set my camera up and started our walk.  I really liked this garden and all the sculptures including a lion, red and blue horses, a big horn sheep, a guitar, and a fox and waterfall.

I really enjoyed this quiet garden and had fun getting out of the house and taking pictures.
